A Day of Refreshing

DECEMBER 15

A Day of Refreshing

Can, or should we do anything alone? What often happens as we travel on our own speed, taking in the daily checklist of the world?

The Lord has said, “And see that all…things are done in wisdom and order; for it is not requisite that a man should run faster than he has strength. And again, it is expedient that he should be diligent, that thereby he might win the prize; therefore, all things must be done in order” (Mosiah 4:27).

What woman doesn’t run faster than she has strength, especially in December?

Today, ponder the thoughts of having the Lord truly with you. Think of ways you can truly seek him. Don’t go shopping if you don’t have to. Don’t run errands. If you work outside the home, turn off the radio on your drive. During your break, read the story of the birth of Christ. Speak as he would speak. Listen as he would listen. In every way, believe that the Lord is with you through your day.

At home, play Christmas music that helps you to focus on Him. When your children need your attention, stop what you are doing, and sit them on your lap. Read them a story. Share with them your love for Jesus. Make time for the things you love the most.

Invite the Savior into your home. Make it a day of “refreshing” (see Acts 3:19). In the evening, record your thoughts on the day.
